Data Research Purpose/Function:
- To serve as the source of data for the overall effort (general and specific needs of HAND and its work groups).
- To monitor the data and its use to ensure accuracy, consistency and integrity.
Data Research Potential Tasks and Activities:
- To assist in and support the continuing development of North Dakota’s “housing story.”
- To identify the types and sources of data that are available (review of current studies, research initiatives, surveys and other data).
- To assess and compare a variety of issues:
– Workforce information
– Affordability issues
– Accessibility issues
– Availability issues
– Safety issue
– Data to support home ownership issues
– Data to address rental concerns/issues
– Current and projected demographics
– Social impacts on communities
– Economic impact (including positive impact of an investment fund on local and state economy)

- To maintain the existing fact sheet and other information (These are ongoing activities)

Education & Marketing Purpose/Function:
- To educate the general public, legislators and government officials on the current status and future housing needs (affordable, accessible and safe housing)
- To develop, implement and monitor a broad-based marketing plan to support the efforts of the Alliance
Education & Marketing Potential Tasks and Activities:
- To explore and develop potential technology-based options:
– Housing investment fund website
– Link on other websites to housing investment fund information and resources
– Explore the potential of “adoption” of the Alliance information and materials by other organizations and groups on their websites
- To explore and develop contacts, links and options relating to newsletters (the Alliance and other groups)
- To develop and/or monitor the use of the “North Dakota Housing Story” documents (as needed – potential for various documents to be developed to be used with different target groups)
- To collaborate with other groups and organizations to “get the story out.”
- To utilize free or inexpensive means (PSAs, cable access, public broadcasting) to “get the story out.”
- To develop, implement and coordinate an effective, multi-media campaign
Education & Marketing Objectives and Timelines:
- To develop a general education/media outline and work plan
- To identify any fiscal or budgetary needs the work group may anticipate, identify potential sources of in-kind and financial support for their activities
